Tree Commission

The Winterville Tree Commission is a citizen-run group established by the City Tree Ordinance. The Commission serves to recognize, foster appreciation of, and inspire awareness of urban forestry and the beneficial contribution trees make to the community. The Commission helps administer the Commemorative Tree Program, advises the City concerning tree-related issues, sponsors public education activities, and organizes work days for maintaining City trees. New members are always welcome!

The Winterville Commemorative Tree Program

The Winterville Commemorative Tree project provides a way for community members to plant new trees (or sponsor established ones) to commemorate people or events, and at the same time enhance the City’s beauty and environmental health. Contact the Tree Commission or City Hall for information about sponsoring a Commemorative Tree.
