2018 Christmas in the Park

Christmas in the Park will be Friday, December 7th beginning at 6 p.m. at Pittard Park.  Mr. and Mrs. Claus will arrive on the Marigold Express for pictures and Winterville Elementary School children will perform Christmas favorites under the pavilion.   Fun, food and refreshments for all.

Additionally, The Winterville Arts Council (WAC), in conjunction with the City of Winterville and the Circle Ensemble Theatre Company, will host a Charles Dickens Festival this holiday season. The City of Winterville will magically transform into the Victorian era, with businesses, residences, and public buildings decorating in grand Dickensian style.  Decorations can include evergreen and magnolia leaves, ribbons, berries, fruit, and lights. The annual Christmas in the Park will feature roaming carolers and characters such as Father Christmas, Dickens Mayor, Scrooge, the Town Crier, and the beloved Cratchit family just before opening A Christmas Carol at the Winterville Auditorium on December 8. Everyone from the very young to the young at heart can join in the fun. Lists of participating businesses will be distributed to encourage visitors.

On Friday, December 1st at 6:00 p.m. Santa Claus came to Winterville to greet all the little girls and boys at the Pittard Park!

Santa arrived on the train at approximately 6 pm and was at the lower pavilion for pictures

Everyone enjoyed free refreshments of cookies, hot dogs, hot cocoa, and punch.

The Winterville Express gave rides to children around the park area.

Students from Winterville Elementary School performed Christmas music for all to enjoy.  Our own 2017 Miss Marigold, True Foley, made an appearance.

The Winterville United Methodist continued their tradition of a Live Nativity and some Victorian Carollers were even spotted lifting their voices merriment.

Our Winterville Fire Department proudly displayed their fire engine.

Some scrumptious holiday cookies and confections drew crowds to the Front Porch Bookstore.

The City of Winterville is a collection area for the Toys for Tots program. You may continue to bring your new, unwrapped toys to Winterville City Hall.

Winterville will also be participating in the 58th Annual Mayors' Christmas Motorcade to the Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta on Thursday, December 7th. Help support this meaningful program to aid those less fortunate. A list of items is available at City Hall and you may drop off items no later than Tuesday, December 6th. Mayor Dodd Ferrelle will be personally delivering the items to the hospital.

Christmas in the Park is sponsored by The Commercial Bank and the Winterville Civitan Club.

Merry Christmas and to all a Joyous New Year!
